Milton Under Wychwood

This development of 44 x 1 & 2-bedroom apartments is situated in a small Cotswold village in the heart of an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.

The design has been developed in close consultation with the planners and local councillors and responds to the rural setting on the edge of the village. Careful consideration was given not only to how the scheme sits adjacent to existing houses on the local road, but also how it blends into the landscape and is viewed from fields far and wide.

The visual appearance of this large development is reduced in scale by fragmenting its mass into a series of buildings that look as though they have evolved over time. Existing vegetation and trees have been retained to further soften the scheme’s impact. The design uses traditional forms and a pallet of Cotswolds materials in a contemporary and distinctive style that remains complementary to its surroundings.

The scheme includes a communal lounge and dining rooms, which have been located to take advantage of the long views across the rolling countryside.
