Following the purchase of the site with outline planning by the Settle Group, we have been working towards detailed planning approvals that will provide 53 affordable homes for local families.

We have achieved planning permission for 44 houses and one flat (eight more houses to follow soon as part of a separate application) on a sloping site at the edge of the village of Upper Gravenhurst.

With impressive views across the Chiltern Hills, the site has been designed to suit the edge of countryside location and provide views into and out of the development in all directions: space between houses allow views to the countryside; pockets of soft landscaping provide visual links to the surrounding land at the southern boundary; while parking has been provided between houses, as well as along the street edge.

The new or extended landscaped areas will also assist in the ecological enhancement on the site. Predominantly traditional in form, the approved buildings fuse contemporary brick detailing, building orientations and roof forms to provide variety and interest; while ensuring an acceptable transition with older houses in the village, particularly on those homes that feature prominently or with close views into and around the site.
