In continuing celebration of our 125th anniversary, we are opening our archives for a second time to showcase a selection of over 5000 projects from across the decades
The Memories Exhibition is set in our office, a Victorian house where we have been based since 1962, and only a stone’s throw from our original premises in Queens Road, Buckhurst Hill.
Browse through drawings, photographs, ledgers and more from the time of the founding partners (Herbert Tooley and Rex C Foster) through to the present day, with many local projects including pumping stations, private houses, housing estates, offices, schools and hospitals. Finish your journey through the Partnership’s history by looking at some of our recent award-winning work including Passivhaus ultra-low energy buildings.
Also on display will be drawing and surveying tools from the 1950s to early 1990s.
The Memories Exhibition is on 29 and 30 November from 4pm to 8pm at the Partnership’s studios in Warwick House, 116 Palmerston Road, Buckhurst Hill, IG9 5LQ.
Entry is free.
Whether you’re a student, local resident, historian or a fellow architectural or design professional, please join us in celebrating our great history.

Tower Bridge was the “amazing venue” for The Tooley & Foster Partnership’s 125th anniversary party on Wednesday, 4 October. More than 100 clients, fellow consultants and staff joined in the celebrations.
Many guests complimented TFP on the choice of venue with its stunning views – including the highlight of seeing the bridge lift twice for shipping, which everyone (except those afraid of heights!) watched through the glass floor.
Others commented on the warm welcome they received from TFP staff and one guest summed it all up with “an exceptional evening.”
After thanking everyone for coming, Partner Keith Everitt gave a brief outline of the practice’s history and said: “TFP is nothing without its staff whose wealth of experience has contributed so much to the success of the practice.”
