The Wesley Centre Project at Wokingham Methodist Church has been designed to provide facilities for the whole community of Wokingham seven days a week, including full access for all people having any form of disability.
The project included remodelling of the main elevation to Rose Street, which is a very attractive historic street in a Conservation Area.
The works involved retaining a third of the existing front elements, which was fully refurbished, and enlarging the façade to create a more attractive frontage to this popular Church.
As some of the existing main elevation was retained, close replication of materials was necessary. This applied to stone and feature brickwork.
The internal spaces created include a new entrance lobby with ramped access to the main Church Hall and Vestry, new office, kitchen and toilet facilities and a refurbished secondary hall.
