Rosebrook Court is Southampton’s first purpose-built Extra Care development. With 33 self-contained flats, it gives over-60s the independence and choice they want with discreet care and support when it’s needed.
There is a ground floor restaurant but each flat also has its own private kitchen. The sun-filled lounge and dining room overlook the southern courtyard and brook, whilst the quieter meeting room and guest suite further promote social and family links.
The planted sedum roof is the first on a residential building in Southampton, and increases biodiversity, improves internal temperatures in summer, and reduces the scale of the building when viewed from the north. The existing brook has been restored and returned it to its natural state, with native species of plants. The building has received BREEAM Very Good sustainability certification.
Brook Lodge, the smaller building nearby, contains a popular Day Centre for elderly people and three independent flats for people with learning difficulties.
Rosebrook Court won an award at the Daily Mail UK Residential Property Awards 2009 and according to one of the residents, is “the best hotel in Southampton”.
