To extend the overall provision on this site in a key location on the edge of a new Country Park, Ladyslaude Court - a new block of 22 Extra Care apartments - has been built adjacent to the Pinders award-winning Care Home, Anjulita Court.
Ladyslaude Court provides alternative accommodation in the form of 1 & 2-bedroom self-contained apartments to offer a range of tenancies to elderly residents, who may be in need of care but are able to enjoy a more independent lifestyle.
Residents at Ladyslaude Court can enjoy the peace of mind of 24-hour care and support (which is provided by MHA’s Domiciliary Care Team) and the social aspect of a residents’ lounge with adjoining kitchenette. They may also use all of Anjulita Court’s facilities.
The design of the new block posed the challenge of producing a building with the same architectural language to complement the very strong and distinctive style of the original Care Home - not to detract from it, but to enhance and be an equally important element of a whole design.
The building was officially opened by HRH The Countess of Wessex in January 2012.
