This majestic 62-bedroom Home with Nursing and Dementia Care and 23 assisted living flats avoids any institutional or pre-conceptual imagery associated with Care Homes.
Designed in harmony with its rolling countryside location, the Home provides independence and privacy for individuals, as well as communal areas for activity, dining, socialising and interaction.
With such strong, stunning architectural features and materials, our whole Interior Design ethos for this building was about bringing the outside in.
The main entrance area with its double height glass façades and grand arched ceiling was designed as a gateway between urban form and landscape; the natural beauty of the external materials and the clean smooth lines of the first floor walkway piercing through the space to form that link. By mirroring this curve in the flooring we emphasised this important feature and located social areas that are intimate yet give the facilities a more open ‘shop front’ feel.
We also created quiet areas with restful views using warm natural materials to complement the bold architectural forms which wrap around these interior spaces. In the more traditional sitting rooms we echoed features found in the main spaces and created calming environments that evoke a feeling of home.
