209-213 Durants Road has been redeveloped to provide Affordable Supported Housing for 14 young people. The residential facilities consist of 6 flats (13 bedrooms) and 1 studio flat. The building was designed to fit seamlessly into the existing streetscape of Durants Road.
Existing residential buildings were demolished and their rear gardens, which were previously extensively developed. They have been re-instated as a landscaped garden that makes a positive contribution to the surrounding area.
The residents’ communal facilities include an IT suite and teaching kitchen for the young people, together with a lounge / recreation area.
The building also incorporates an area for key worker support staff and management offices. This sustainable development was designed with a high level of fabric energy efficiency and incorporates 3 air-source heat pumps, which provide the hot water and heating.
