Coles Field is the second phase of an affordable housing development for local residents on former agricultural land, on the edge of Burford.
The development comprises a mixture of 1-bed flats, 2-bed and 3-bed houses totaling eleven properties, with nine for affordable rent and two for shared ownership.
Each unit has dedicated amenity space and a parking bay, either within curtilage or a small parking court. A traditional mixed country hedge to the external boundary provides the setting for the development in the landscape.
The scheme utilized timber framed construction for speed and energy efficiency, clad in materials reflecting traditional materials found locally. Thermally efficient windows, a regulated surface water drainage system and air source heat pumps contribute to make this a sustainable development.
